The construction of the first cottage at the current location of Vrbická cottage began in 1936 and was the work of the KČST Department in Liptovský Svätý Mikuláš. It found its place in the beautiful skiing environment at the foot of Chopok and Poľana in Demänovská valley at an altitude of 1113 meters. It was designed by Juraj Povolný, and the construction was led by Ján Kapsiar, with master carpenter Ján Galo and his sons Milan and Dušan from Bodice.
The cottage had two shared dormitories and two rooms..The cottage was open all year round, and at its first opening in 1936, it was named Chata Jána Pálku. The first cottage hostess was Mária Brtáňová. In 1938, due to the increasing number of tourists and skiers, a restaurant and kitchen were added, with materials and food brought from the Demänovská caves on the backs..After the war, a new road was built from Lúčok, which still serves today. In the summer of 1945, Viliam Benko became the new chalet host. At that time, Mikulášska cottage was also built next to Vrbická cottage, opened in 1950..

One of the oldest cottages in the Demänovská valley, Jasná, built in 1950. In 1995 and 2005, it was completely renovated without interfering with the external Tatra architecture. The reception, restaurant, cafe, summer terrace, children's corner and ski room are part of it.
